A Scan using Sonomed device
In this technique, ultrasound waves are used and the ultrasound probe is placed directly on the cornea after driping anestocaine drops.
The purpose of this photo
The aim of this photo is to measure the various anatomical features of the eye that are needed to calculate the intraocular lens power This measure is used to determine the correct strength of the lens that is followed by intraocular cataract surgery.
Actions before the photo
The patient does not need any special preparation. Before taking a shot, anesthetic drops in each patient's eye can be made to alleviate the surface of the cornea. Measuring the power of the cornea or keratometry before performing A-Scan is essential.
Steps
First, the optometrist inserts the patient's eye data and keratometry into the device. After ensuring corneal anesthesia, the probe is placed directly on the cornea. After at least 5 times measurements of the axial axis of the eye, the intraocular lens strength is calculated.
Complications
Due to the use of anesthetic drops, the patient will have 1 to 2 hour feel heavy eyes.
Place and hours of doing
Every day, except holidays, from 7 am to 6:30 pm
The duration of the test for one eye is approximately 5-10 minutes but depends on the patient's cooperation.
